Beryl, the Queen of the NegaverseQueen Beryl ruled the Negaverse. She was the one responsible for the attack, 1000 years ago, against the Moon Kingdom. She was the reason for the scouts and residents of the Moon Kingdom were sent to the future.
Her Mission on Earth was to free the power of the Negaverse, the Negaforce, so that she could once again invade Earth and our unsiverse. The way she could free the Negaforce was to gather energy from human beings, like yourselves, and give it to the Negaforce. She first sent out Jedite to gather energy, who failed. 
He was sent into eternal sleep. The next was Nephlyte. His plan was to tap the energy of one person at a time, which worked out for a while. Next, Zoicite was sent out to retreive a new sorce of power. The seven Rainbow Crystals, which held the seven shadows. Retreiving these would release the shadows, and all seven would form into the Silver Imperium Crystal. Working along side Zoisite was Malachite.
Beryl eventually winds up in a fight with Princess Serena, after all her generals are destroyed. It was Beryl's last ditch attempt at getting the Silver Imperium Crystal, which had the power to free the Negaforce. Serena, with the power of her friends, defeated Beryl with the Silver Imperium Crystal attached to the Cresent Moon Wand.
